Portraits and frames with character

Fine art photography in Warsaw: a portrait as a conversation, not a photoshoot

As a fine art photographer in Warsaw, I care about one thing: showing you as you really are, once you stop watching yourself.

Three ways to do a fine art portrait

Every package includes direction on set, my own signature editing and a private online gallery. There's no travel fee within Warsaw, and the location hire is included. I can issue an invoice on request. Your date is reserved with a 30 percent deposit.

Silver package

For one look and your first frames with character.

€185
  • 1 hour of guided shooting ?This covers active shooting plus short moves between spots. For the whole hour I guide you step by step and show you what to do with your hands and how to stand.
  • Up to 200 photos from the session ?An hour gives about 200 frames. After the session you get a link to a private online gallery. I never publish anything without your consent.
  • Indoors or outdoors ?We pick the place to fit your vision: a calm interior or an urban setting.
  • 10 retouched photos included ?Signature editing with a consistent colour palette: subtle skin correction, refined light and colour, and your features left as they are.
  • 2–3 outfits ?Swapping a blazer for a jumper or adding glasses is enough to change the mood of the frames without rushing.
  • Finished photos in 5 days ?The clock starts once you pick, in the gallery, your final 10 frames for retouching.
  • Express editing in 24h: +€45 / $55 ?Finished photos within 24 hours of choosing your frames, for an extra fee.

  • Outdoors and indoors in one session ?Raw urban frames under neon signs and streetlights plus calm indoor portraits, all in one set.
  • 40 retouched photos included ?You choose 40 frames that get full editing with my signature colour palette. A solid base for a bigger project.

Where I see from

About the photographer

Photography started for me with the city at night. That raw way of seeing, built on available light, has stayed with me ever since.

Night walks with a camera taught me to look for point light sources and strong contrast. That became my visual language: a frame closer to a film still than a catalogue shot. You can read more about how I got here on my about me page.

Photographing the city after dark became my personal project, and I still keep it going alongside client work. It shapes how I build a portrait: first I look for the light, and only then do I place the person.

I never publish a photo without the consent of the person in it. You won't find my best, most personal sessions in any portfolio, because they belong to the people who trusted me, not to me.

My principles

How I approach a fine art portrait

01

Light, not filters

To me, a fine art portrait is a way of seeing, not a set of filters. Whenever conditions allow, I build the image with available light. The frames share a consistent, signature colour palette, not an effect stuck on at the end.

02

What I don't do

I don't put anyone into rehearsed poses and I never say “now smile”. Polished frames with no trace of character bore me, retouched until the person disappears. I prefer a photo where something remains: a look, a gesture, a shadow, a tension.

03

More personal frames

Some people want something more intimate. I can lead that kind of session discreetly, in a boudoir style, always only as far as we agree.

How the session goes

What our meeting looks like

01

A conversation first

We start with a chat, not the camera. Most people tell me at the start that they can't pose. The first ten or fifteen minutes are for settling in, before any serious shooting.

02

I guide you frame by frame

Then I direct. I show you where to put your hands, tell you where to look, take pauses, and you see the shots as we go on the camera screen. After about fifteen minutes you usually forget the camera is even there. Sessions run in English, and I also speak Polish and Chinese.

03

A place that suits the mood

I choose the place to match the mood. Outdoors, I most often shoot in Łazienki Park at dawn, when the light slants through the trees and the park is empty. For rawer frames I pick the murals and neon signs of Praga and the Vistula Boulevards at sunset, and I take classic shots in the Old Town before the cafés open. If the weather lets us down, we move indoors. I write more about working in the studio on my studio photography page.

At dawn

Łazienki Park, light slanting through the trees

After dark

Praga murals and neon, raw frames

At sunset

Vistula Boulevards, warm light over the river

Before opening time

Old Town, classic shots without the crowds

Reviews

I needed photos for my studio portfolio, but I was afraid of stiff catalogue poses. Tomek started with coffee and questions about clay, and only took the camera out later. He showed me the shots as we went, so I always knew what was happening. The colours in the final photos have their own atmosphere. It was easier than I expected.

Bogna Wręga, ceramicist

I wanted photos with my cello, but not the corporate headshot kind. We did part of it indoors and part outside at dusk, by the streetlights. Tomek knew where and when to catch the light. He didn't force me into poses, he made suggestions. I got the gallery after four days and put the photos straight on my band's website.

Ksawery Domin, cellist

I booked because I was tired of phone portraits. I was a bit nervous about the camera, but after ten minutes I stopped thinking about it. I liked that he asked before publishing anything, because some of the frames are private. The photos are raw in a good way, not forcibly smoothed.

Get in touch before you book a date

I'm not interested in taking the same photos as everyone else. A good portrait starts with a short conversation about what you want to show, not with a ready-made formula.

Tell me your idea and a rough date in two sentences, and I'll get back to you within a few hours. If you're not sure which package to choose, tick the last option in the form.
