What a Christmas photoshoot in Warsaw involves
A session with a wintry feel. A Christmas tree, lights, presents, a warm blanket, sometimes red mugs and gingerbread on set. We make photos to give as gifts, for your wall, for Christmas cards for the grandparents or simply for yourselves.
We start with a chat, not the camera
The first few minutes are for the kids to get used to the place and to me. Then I gently suggest where to stand and where to look, with no stiff poses. After fifteen minutes most people forget we're taking photos at all. Sessions run in English, and I also speak Polish and Chinese.
You see previews straight away
I show you the frames as we go on the camera screen. You see right away how you look and can react. That usually relaxes even the most tense people, because the “how do I look?” worry disappears.

How I work at a Christmas session
At least an hour, no rush
If you're looking for a short Christmas mini session, it's worth knowing that my sessions last at least an hour. That's time when nobody is rushed, the kids have a chance to settle in, and you get far more than just a few photos.
I don't set up stiff poses and I never say “now smile”. I shoot with available light, in a consistent colour palette, close to how you really look, just from a better angle than your mirror. The result is closer to a film still than a stiff studio keepsake.
The kids set the pace
A two-year-old who won't cooperate is normal, not a problem. I don't make them sit still and look into the lens. I give them a moment, join in their game and catch the best frames once they stop noticing me. One photo of a child truly laughing is worth more than ten of them posing politely.

Where I shoot and how long the session takes
You can choose the atmosphere that suits you best: a Christmas studio, a heated greenhouse with a small outdoor set, or a winter shoot in the city. Studio hire is included in the package price, I don't charge for it separately.
The studio is warm, calm and intimate, and every room has a different Christmas setup. Kids settle in faster, and adults don't feel like a stranger is watching them from the side. The studio is in Targówek, and with the Silver and Gold packages you can also choose Śródmieście (city centre). You can read more about the space on my studio photoshoot page.
The Christmas greenhouse in Wawer (ul. Jeziorowa 5a) is heated, so it stays comfortable even on a frosty day. Next to it there is a small outdoor set: among the birch trees stand a Christmas sweets bar, a swing and a fire pit surrounded by Scandinavian chairs draped in fur. I work here both in daylight and in the evening, and the results are completely different. By day, especially when there's snow, you have snowy trees behind you. After dark, the fairy lights add their magic and a warm glow that makes a beautiful contrast.
If you prefer a winter shoot in the city, there's the Old Town with its Christmas lights and tree, and Łazienki Park in the morning, almost empty. The lights look their best in the evening and at night. You'll find the details on my outdoor photoshoot page.
The length depends on the package and starts at one hour. Retouching your chosen photos takes 5 days. Booking as early as November guarantees your photos will be ready before Christmas Eve.
How to prepare
Choose outfits in matching colours, without big logos or bold patterns. One or two are enough for the shorter package, and you can bring more for the longer ones
Dress the kids comfortably, because comfortable clothes let them be themselves
Eat and get a good sleep before the session, especially the little ones
Bring one small thing that means something to you, like a favourite cuddly toy. With little ones, bring their favourite toy: I'll hold it by the camera to keep their attention
Arrive a few minutes early so you can catch your breath and start without rushing
“We don't know how to pose”? No problem. I guide you through the whole session.

Christmas comes once a year, and the kids look a little different every December. A Christmas photoshoot is a simple way to keep one photo from each year that you'll want to come back to. I've been a photographer in Warsaw since 2018 and have more than 600 sessions behind me.
